How to Install Your CarGuard Dashcam
Before you begin, make sure you have all the necessary components ready: the dashcam, power cables, a memory card, and any mounting accessories. It's important to find the right spot on your windshield to ensure your camera captures the best view of the road without obstructing your field of vision. We recommend placing the dashcam just behind the rearview mirror, as this spot offers a balanced view and keeps the device out of sight.
Once you've found the perfect position, use the adhesive mount or suction cup to secure the dashcam to the windshield. Make sure the surface is clean and dry to ensure the mount holds firmly. Next, run the power cable along the edges of the windshield and dashboard, tucking it away neatly to avoid it interfering with your driving. Connect the power cable to your vehicle’s cigarette lighter or USB port.
Now, insert the memory card into the dashcam, ensuring it has enough storage for long recordings. Once everything is connected, power on your dashcam and adjust the camera angle for the best view. Test the device by taking a short drive to check that everything is working smoothly, and you're all set!
